Safer space for BIPOC bi+ people

Carmen and Ella, from ColoredQollective

Two facilitators will create a safe(r) space for participants of the Bi+ event.

Join us in an exclusive space for BIPOC Bi+ people, where we will not only share experiences amongst each other, but will talk about tips and tools to navigate an ever changing (and sometimes not so friendly) world.

We will start by talking about and sharing our experiences with the Dutch “doe maar normaal” culture. How has it impacted you? Is there a difference in how you’re treated between spaces you move around? After that, we’ll share some reasons as to where this treatment might come from, supported by the work of sociologist Gloria Wekker.

Together, we’ll explore ways to build resilience, advocate for ourselves, and strengthen our community. This is an opportunity to connect, reflect, and leave with practical tools to navigate the complexities of our identities in a world that wasn’t created for us in mind.
